Where the world comes to study the Bible

Is there a Man in the House?

An Old Testament couple exemplifies God's promise that nothing is too difficult or nothing is too marvelous is Abraham and Sarah. Yet, while getting a closer glimpse into their day by day lives, we learn that Abraham was often not home and often out of touch with the emotional and spiritual needs of his wife.  This series of messages will focus on the difference between obeying, trusting and leading partially rather than totally. It also highlights the need for couples to persevere while allowing God to use oppositeness to bring about needed spiritual growth within a marriage.

Following the bible.org model, this outline and accompanying audio message from Dr. Bill Lawrence of Leader Formation International are designed to assist users of bible.org to grow and teach quality principles of leadership in an appropriate context for their respective audience. These outlines can help you in grasping the themes of each study as well as guide you in your own teaching preparation. You can gain important insights and learn new Bible study and teaching method styles used by others, like Dr. Lawrence. For this particular study, the manuscript only is available for Lessons 1 and 2.

Great Books Everyone Should Know

Some of the best literature in the world comes to us at a time when we’re not ready to receive it. Such as in high-school English class, when the classics merely seem old-fashioned. Or before life’s experiences have opened our curiosity to the real meaning of life. So some great books we simply pushed aside. Or if we read them, we didn’t really grasp how they spoke something of value to our own lives.

For each book, the audio will:

  • Give you interesting glimpses into the life of the author
  • Explore the main themes of the book
  • Pull out some favorite passages (to give you a taste of the good stuff)
  • Make some relevant connections to our lives today.

Relational Spirituality

This is a 26-part audio series on relational spirituality done by Dr. Ken Boa.

As a communion of three Persons, God is a relational being.  He is the originator of a personal relationship with us, and our high and holy calling is to respond to His loving initiatives.  By loving God completely, we discover who and whose we are as we come to see ourselves as God sees us.  In this way, we become secure enough to become other-centered rather than self-centered, and this enables us to become givers rather than grabbers.
