Where the world comes to study the Bible

Is there a reason why God gave certain eating restrictions like pork in the OT law?

Thanks for your note and the question on clean and unclean, especially related to pork. I have often heard the same kinds of explanation. There is a real desire to prove that God forbade eating pork for practical reasons. I don’t think so. Spoiled pork is no more unhealthy than spoiled beef, or lamb. A lot of animals eat things we find disgusting. You may wish to consider the lesson I did on Leviticus chapter 11, because there I deal with the various explanations that have been given for the clean/unclean distinctions.
