Where the world comes to study the Bible

Standing Firm Through Difficult Times

While serving with the US Army in Vietnam (1967-1968), I was in charge of a 5-man ambush patrol. We were to set up 1000 Yards from our NDP (night defensive position). It was very dark and scary, but while only 500 yards out, one of the men was so terrified that he tried to convince me to stop where we were instead of going all the way. I refused and told him he could go back if he was that scared without any fear of being punished, but he chose to continue with the mission, because of my example. Making good choices without compromising your testimony with others will impact more people then you will ever know... Rev. Larry Smith 11-18-2005
