Sung Jin Park received Ph.D. from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, Cincinnati, Ohio. His research has focused on biblical Hebrew poetry, prophetic literature and comparative Semitic linguistics. His doctoral dissertation, titled “A Study on the Poetic Typology of Biblical Hebrew Poetry: Generative Metrical Approach”, was advised by Professors David B. Weisberg, z''l, and Stephen A. Kaufman.
He received the Bachelor of Science from Hanyang University, Seoul and the Master of Science from POSTECH, Pohang, South Korea. After working for Hyundai Motor Company as a research engineer for six years, he decided to dedicate his life for full-time ministry. He majored both Old Testament and New Testament at Dallas Theological Seminary and received Merrill F. Unger Award in Old Testament from the seminary. At HUC-JIR, he was a recipient of Isadore and Godlie Millstone Fellowship and of Rev. Hanhm Ok Foundation Scholarship. He is now teaching the Old Testament as adjunct professor at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
