14. Why We Should Submit to Our Authorities (1 Corinthians 11:2-16)Related Media
1 Corinthians (part fourteen)
First Corinthians 11-14 is a major section in the letter where Paul addresses issues relating to the weekly worship service. The Corinthian church was experiencing a measure of disunity, which found its fullest expression during their corporate time of worship. Apparently, their notorious pride was manifesting itself through insubordination, disrupting the humble tone of service and unselfishness that should characterize every church. According to Paul, reinstating God's designed structure of authority would establish order during the worship services where chaos had begun to creep in. By submitting to our God-given authorities, we're submitting to God Himself.
