12. Why We Should Learn from Others' Failures (1 Corinthians 10:1-13)Related Media
1 Corinthians (part twelve)
Israel was chosen by God to enjoy His blessings. They were delivered from slavery and granted privileges from the hand of God. Nevertheless, Israel persisted in her sin against God. By doing so, they damaged their testimony to the other nations and they tarnished God's reputation (His "name"). Sound familiar? In this chapter, Paul instructs the church in Corinth to study Israel's history and learn well from her failures. The church has been chosen by God to enjoy His blessings. We've been delivered from slavery to sin and granted freedom in Christ. Will history repeat itself? Or will we turn from the sins that Israel practiced, for the sake of the Gospel and the glory of His name?
