How can we trust that God will be faithful to us through our present crisis—whatever crisis that may be? We know because the Bible promises us that God will be faithful. We also know because we’ve experienced His faithfulness so consistently in our own past. Certainly, we must guard against thinking that God’s faithfulness will result in our comfort, but we can be confident that He will come through. We must only remember what His Word teaches, and remember the countless times He’s come through for us before (oh, how short our memories can be). God’s faithfulness is always clear in hindsight. One day, during a future crisis, God’s Spirit may even incline you to remember His faithfulness to you during the present crisis—even though today the rest of the story has not yet been written.
