Dedication of Marriage to the Lord

Pastor -- You have exchanged your wedding vows and we come to the second part of this marriage ceremony and that is the dedication of your marriage and your newly formed family to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Man -- Your mother and I have taught you from the beginning of your life about the Lord Jesus Christ and His love for you, His death and His resurrection. We have instructed you in His Word and we know that you have given your life to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Woman -- I know your parents as God fearing, Christ loving people. I know they have taught you of Christ's Word and I know your testimony of your own salvation and love for the Lord Jesus Christ. A marriage is more than a union between two people, a man and a woman, who love each other, but it is also a union of two families, the bride's family and the groom's family, and your marriage establishes a relationship between the two families.

Parent -- We welcome you, __________, into our family and ___________'s family welcomes you, _________, into their family. And because we are all part of the family of God through the Lord Jesus Christ, I am asking you now to dedicate your marriage and your future to the Lord. Will you please repeat after me this vow:

Groom -- I do dedicate my marriage to ___________ to the Lord Jesus Christ and I will raise my children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord according to the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ . . . in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.
