I grew up in Semi-rural North Carolina. As a teenager I was planning to go into science as a career, but God called me to ministry. I went into the Coast Guard to qualify for the GI Bill to pay for college. I took a double course load in Junior College so that I could save a year of GI Bill for Seminary. I finished a BA General degree at The University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. I went to Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, Mill Valley, CA. Due to an administrative error at the VA my GI Bill money was 6 months late. We were devastated financially and I had to leave seminary. I went to be pastor at First Baptist Church of Sun Valley, Nevada with the understanding that I would finish my Seminary degree part time. They had destroyed the pastor before me. They destroyed me and the two pastors after me.
I have done whatever I could to make a living since so that I could use my gifts to teach the Bible in churches. That has become increasingly difficult of late as "teaching" has become a bad word.
