When God Blesses Those Who Curse Us (Habakkuk 1:5-11)

Printer-friendly versionSend to friend

Abstract

A significant obstacle to our sense of global stability, rightly or wrongly, regards those political powers we would deem enemies of God and the people of God. The world seems especially unstable when our enemies appear to be flourishing. How do we feel when it looks like the reigns of the world have been handed over to ungodly powers who don’t know God? How do we respond when God appears to be blessing those who curse us? Our God is the Lord of the godly and the ungodly, and even the most powerful nation is merely an instrument in His mighty hand. Despite who may seem to be leading the world economically or militarily, God maintains control and will see to it that justice is ultimately carried out.
