What Do You Think About God? (Parable of the Persistent Friend)

Printer-friendly versionSend to friend

This is an audio sermon on the parable of the Persistent Friend.

Abstract

The parable of the persistent friend highlights one of the most important aspects of Christianity: The nature of our Heavenly Father. If it’s true that the most important thought a person thinks is the thought that he thinks when he thinks about God--then this parable is critically important. When you think about God, what sort of thoughts do you think? Who is He? What’s He like? Many people hold flawed views about the nature of God. In this parable, Jesus gives an accurate description of a God who loves His children and eagerly responds to them. If anyone could paint an accurate picture of our wonderful Father, Jesus could. He did, after all, have first-hand knowledge about the Father!
