Luke 19:1-10

The story of Zacchaeus is a familiar one to children and adults alike. Short-statured Zacchaeus climbed up that tree to get a look at Jesus passing through town. Little did he know that Jesus was seeking him, too. And When Jesus called him by name, Zacchaeus came quickly to Jesus and welcomed him joyfully. But this man had a reputation as a very bad sinner, and the crowds were confused to see Jesus in his company. So Zacchaeus demonstrated that his heart was changed by publicly repenting of his sins. He was once an unrepentant sinner; he was now a follower of Jesus who was ready to obey God on God’s terms. Can that be said of us?
