Abstract

Like the Holy Spirit, the Bible has many roles. It teaches, convicts, trains, and reveals God. And one of its roles is to comfort Christians when we find ourselves suffering. By providing a proper perspective and showing us who God truly is, we can find delight in the Scripture even when our world seems to be collapsing around us. The Apostle Paul claims that we have hope “through endurance and through encouragement of the Scriptures.” According to David during a time of suffering, “I have remembered Your ordinances from of old, O Lord, and comfort myself.” Do you regularly find comfort in God’s Word?
