Abstract

There’s no two ways about it: Jesus was a controversial figure from the start. Just shortly after His birth people showed that they were divided about Him. Some viewed Him as inconvenient and unnecessary competition. They sought Him to eliminate Him. But others sought Jesus with purer motives. The wise men traveled a great distance in order to worship Jesus and offer Him some very meaningful gifts. Wise men sought Him centuries ago, and wise men still seek Him to offer their praise and worship. People continue to be divided over Jesus today. Some would prefer to eliminate Him along with His impact and His Church. Others prefer to seek and follow Him. The only response to Jesus that’s never been a realistic option is indifference.
