Abstract

The Lord graciously gives parents nearly ten months to prepare for the arrival of their newborn child. A parent’s anticipation and hope grows along with the baby in the womb during pregnancy. How much more did the anticipation and hope of Mary and Joseph grow while they awaited the arrival of the Savior of the World. They knew from the start that He would be no normal child—the virgin conception convinced them of that. An angel alerted them that He would save His own people from their sins in fulfillment of prophecy. The great Son of the Most High would be given the throne of David and His kingdom would have no end. Not what you would call a garden-variety Child—but certainly One worthy of our anticipation and hope.
