Abstract

Through Jesus, a new way of relating to God has opened up for us. No longer is our relationship characterized by fear; no longer is it characterized by distance; no longer is it characterized by walls designed to protect us from Him. Instead, we enjoy close, intimate access to our heavenly Father through Jesus Christ our Lord. But don’t assume this means that God has changed. He hasn’t. We are invited to enjoy this new way of relating to our Father that Christ has offered. We must be grateful. We must listen to His voice and obey Him more than ever before. Our God is still a consuming fire, and with great privilege comes great responsibility.
