A More Desirable Maturity (Hebrews 5:11-6:8)

Abstract

Maturity doesn’t come naturally with age. And that’s even more true of our spiritual lives than our physical lives. How unnatural it would be for a grown adult to continue to act like a child. If we were to put on spiritual glasses for a minute and measure the maturity in this congregation, would we see a group of children trapped in adult bodies? According to Dr. Mike Burer, we have two paths we might be travelling on: “Either going towards Christ or away from him. There is no middle ground of ‘saved but not progressing.’” Are you progressing in your relationship with the Lord? Do you see tangible evidence that you are maturing in your faith?
