Abstract:

Most men I know admit that they struggle with lust. It is usually one of the top two struggles for men, along with pride. When the Apostle John spoke of temptations we face in this world, he listed three categories: the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life (see 1 John 2:16). But there is considerable misunderstanding surrounding the concept of lust. What is lust? Is it sin? Is looking considered a lustful act? Is it okay to look as long as I don't touch, as the law suggests? And how can I prevent myself from lusting, especially when I'm inundated by lust-worthy images and women all around me?
