Jacob’s Unfinished Business (Genesis 27 – 35)

Printer-friendly versionSend to friend

Jacob was an unworthy vessel whom God chose to use. After he used deceit to steal Esau’s blessing from Isaac, Jacob ran away. For twenty years, Jacob delayed fulfilling a commitment he had made to the Lord. For those same twenty years, Jacob chose to live 400 miles away instead of returning to make amends with his brother, Esau. His story is one of unfinished business. But God finally got his attention and mercifully compelled Jacob to finish what he had started. Have you made a commitment to God—last week, last year, or last century—that remains unfinished? Do you have conflict with someone that remains unresolved? Is God calling you back to your unfinished business?
