How to Live Wisely (James 3:13-18)

Printer-friendly versionSend to friend

Abstract

Would you consider yourself wise? Do you know of someone who especially embodies wisdom? This may come as a surprise, but wisdom is not always portrayed positively in the Bible. Rather, two types of wisdom are described, one commendable and the other lamentable. When the doctor says your cholesterol is too high, he doesn’t mean ALL of your cholesterol. Our bodies have “good” cholesterol (necessary for a healthy body) and “bad” cholesterol (potentially damaging to one’s arteries). Likewise, the Bible describes two types of wisdom – the “good” kind and the “bad” kind. Which one would you be diagnosed with?
