The Glorious Beginning: The Flood (Genesis 6 – 9)

Printer-friendly versionSend by email

Nothing in natural is quite as destructive as water. In recent years, we’ve witnessed its unmatched power through flooding, tsunamis, and hurricanes. But years ago a global flood took the lives of nearly every man, woman, child, and animal on earth. God sent this flood to judge the unrighteousness of the people He created. The human race was preserved through one man who lived a life of integrity. His righteous life looked very peculiar against the backdrop of cultural wickedness surrounding him. God provided him with the means to escape the coming judgment. He obeyed God, escaped the flood, and responded to God’s mercy with sacrificial obedience. We each count Noah among our ancestors, but do our lives reflect his in the areas that matter most?
