Abstract

We have all been touched by divorce. We all know people who are divorced, and we are familiar with many of its consequences. Sadly, the very marriage relationship that God intended to be permanent is often prematurely terminated. Divorce-especially in the past few decades in the United States-has become commonplace. Perhaps it is due to the frequency of divorce that many couples consider it a legitimate option themselves.

While the cultural opinion on divorce may have experienced significant changes in recent times, the biblical teaching on divorce has remained the same. God hates divorce. Always. Every time. Divorce is never ideal. It is only with rare exception that God permits divorce.

If you are married, God has some very important things for you to know today as you think about your future. If you are divorced, God has some very important things for you to know today as you think about your future. I pray that God's Word would challenge and encourage all of us today on this critical subject.
