Contradicting Hardship with Uncommon Joy (Philippians 4:1-23)

Printer-friendly versionSend by email

Abstract

What threatens to steal your joy in life today? Sometimes conflict with other people can discourage us. Other times worrying about our difficult circumstances can choke out our joy. We may find ourselves paralyzed by financial stress during a cultural or personal economic crisis. The Apostle Paul offers wise remedies for our relational, circumstantial, and financial pressures. He had learned the secret of unconditional contentment that enabled him even to suffer joyfully. He had installed an internal security system that prevented anyone or anything from stealing his joy. Do you know the secret? Do you have a built-in security system that protects your joy? Such inexplicable joy is counter-cultural, and will get the attention of the world around us.
