Add to My Library The winning entry came from Jenny C who wrote:
"Easter has meant endurance and growth. Endurance in my circumstances in Afghanistan. Not knowing the spiritual condition of soldiers dying around me.
Easter contest winner continued:
....It has been a great trial for me personally as I grieve that someone would sacrifice their life not knowing Jesus. Growth in my personal spiritual condition as I live out my faith in hopes that even in these horrible circumstances here the light of Jesus can shine. I have grown closer to the Lord and more dependent on Him for all things. I see His sacrifice as my reason for existence. My prayer life has increased as I seek the Lord in more things. Lord, may your sacrifice be the cool water needed in the dry, barren deserts of those who come to know You. I want you to know that it has been a personal emotional heartbreak for me to see these boys and girls, men and women, literally sacrificing their lives. I hope in some way I can live out a life here that says to the soldiers and all here that I am confident in Jesus. With Jesus, I fear nothing. My pastor wife friend asks me that which is heavy on my heart and that is "are they believers"? "Are the fallen soldiers believers"? Often we do not know their spiritual condition. So, I pray God have mercy on those who died for the rights of others. What a unselfish act that they gave their precious life to benefit others. I pray for those living that God would bring around a person to these unsaved and give them the gift of eternal life we share as believers. Pray for these families as I do, as I cry unending tears for their loss, that they may be healed through the blood of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus."
Jenny will be receiving a compact Edition of the NET Bible along with a care package per her request of things she can share with her platoon. We rejoice in her servant attitude and her depth to pray for those who do not know the Christ of Easter.
