Where the world comes to study the Bible

How to carry a basket

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. I Pet. 5:7.

One old women in the rural India was going on foot to the nearby market to sell the Oranges of her own garden. She had taken hundred of Oranges in a basket and put it on her head.

She was followed by a young man of her village, who was also going to the same market in his bullock cart to sell the vegetables of his farm.

He offered a lift to the old lady in his bullock cart since both were going to the same market. The old lady accepted the offer gladly.

After two kilometers of journey, the young man looked back to the old lady to see if she is comfortable. He was amazed at the old lady to see her sitting in his bullock cart with the basket still on her head.

He laughed at her and said, "Mom why don't you keep your basket down on my bullock cart. My cart is able to carry your load as well as your basket's.

Moral:

The Bible says:

"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." I Pet. 5:7.

  • Since Jesus is caring for His people, why should Christians worry about anything in their life.
  • Those Christians who keeps worrying are like that old lady, who even though was sitting on the bullock cart, was keeping the basket on her head, not knowing that the cart is able to bear her weight as well as her basket's.
  • Jesus is able to carry your load fully. So "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."
