Net Bible Study tools on the web Phase2

This is our on-line study tool also known as the NEXTbible study tool (We are dropping the "X" in the name and assigning it the web address http://netbible.org. The new name NETBible on- line study tool better describes the tool and will hopefully eliminate confusion that existed in the NEXTBible name. As lots of people were confused by the name. They asked what is the difference between the NEXTBible and the NETBible. The answer is that the NEXTBible was just the very popular on-line study tool for the NETBible. This on-line study tool is being used by millions of users around the globe.

You May ask how can this on-line study tool be on the unfunded list? Isn't it already functional and working on the web?

the answer is yes phase 1 is operational but we have had requests to expand its functionality to include commentaries and to add material in other languages. As many of your know the primary developer for this program is from our partner in Indonesia.(http://www.sabda.org ) He continues to develop commentary and additional language resources (Indonesian, Chinese and Spanish are currently in development) even though we have not been able to support his efforts in over a year.

If our donations do not pick up we are in danger of losing his developmental efforts. If you would like to support this effort you can designate funds to the designated fund titled NETBible on line.

• additional language navigation and reference material (look at Indonesian, Spanish, Chinese to start)
• finding and better linking to articles on the bible.org site. (bible.org plans to be able to index its articles by verse. This will be used by the new web toolset.
• improve the user interface to make it easier to use
• Be the best free bible study toolset on the Internet and build a user base that tells others in their blogs and on their church web sites.
• Continue to add computer resources and Internet bandwidth resources as more people discover and use it world wide.

• This expansion of the project into other languages  will benefit people who are not that well versed in English.
• the expansion of the project to include commentaries as well as the NETBible notes will greatly benefit people studying the bible and all this is for FREE!

• Much of the code will have to be reworked and many new commentary reference materials processed, indexed and made available to the program.
• A person who is able to work in the new languages will need to be hired in Indonesia where the team is headquartered.

• We don't have good estimates here yet but the need is likely to be in the 5-10k mth.

• A new graphical user interface will be constructed and tested by selected testers.
• a way to select the preference language (English/ Indonesian, Chinese, Spanish )
