Getting Involved Bible.org Ministry Opportunities & projects

Goal: Building Community together to run race while being involved in Completing the Great Commission.

  • We are commanded to run the race with endurance Heb 12:1-2 and to finished the race well and receive the crown of righteousness 2 Tim 4:7-8 .

What is the best way bible.org can answer the question: How can one become involved with bible.org as we run the race in completing the Great commission? Because of the breadth and depth of this question we have chosen to answer it using a question/answer format. Therefore, we have culled the questions from previous emails, interactions, face-to-face questions, and other venues. We have listed the questions and if you click on them you will find the answers that we have formulated as a result of these interactions. Send us your questions and we will add it to the list.

Maybe in the future we might use this as a script and make an audio or video answering these and other questions in an interview format or we could even schedule a live call-in session where we answered questions live.  If you have thoughts on this subject use the comments below to let us know what you think..

. First the questions are listed without the answers and  you can jump to each answer by clicking on the question link or you can read them in sequence.

Q1- I would like to make my life count for God. What would you suggest?
That question is a question all believers ask and yet it is a vague question. What does it mean that it “make my life count ” for God? What is our measures? Jesus said that man is to “count the cost” before taking on any ministry or project. Are you willing to count the cost before taking on any project? If you say yes, then Jesus has already given you the mandate to take the Word to a lost and dying world who will enter a Christ-less eternity unless we give them the Word. How are you taking the Word currently? Are you actively involved in a ministry where you are currently? Are you willing to donate time/talents/monetary means to further the work?
Making our lives count for God means many things to many different people and in many different ways. To some it means being actively in prayer, to others it means doing something with your hands. To some it means giving money to some project because they have the means but not the time. I would come back to you and ask you what you think it means in your time reference and in your sphere of influence. In Psalm 90 we see Moses praying for the ability to make the life God had given him more meaningful and that God might confirm or establish the work of his hands (Psalm 90:17). He wanted his life to count for God and that it might have eternal value, but an essential part of this was an awareness of the value and purpose of his time on earth. Man’s problem is that he tends to live for the moment rather than for eternity. But where does time management begin? By calculating not only the brevity of life, but also the approximate days he might have left according to the average life span. With that life span in view, he prayed that he might devote himself to bringing in a harvest of God’s wisdom so he might live wisely, walking circumspectly in the light of God’s wisdom (cf. Eph. 5:15-18).
Numbering our days would include evaluating the use and management of our time. This means evaluating where and how we spend our days. Hampton Keathley III in his article on Stewardship of Time says If we are too busy to spend time in the Word, then we need to ask ourselves why. He suggests four reasons why people are too busy, but are going nowhere in terms of eternal investments, or in accomplishing God’s will. Bible.org would like to suggest that you prayerfully consider joining its community and invest some of your time and resources and expect your life will build eternal rewardss.       Return to Question list

Q2- I love Bible.org and its ministry as I have benefited greatly. How can I help?
There are many areas of need and many areas that we can use your help. Tell us more about yourself through filling out the volunteer page that we might know more about you and your are of interest etc. Return to Question list

Q3- What can you tell me about the projects that bible.org is currently in need of help?
See our about page on projects.  Return to Question list

Q4- We love your ministry but are not sure how we can help, can you tell me some things that you currently have needs for?
Yes we love to hear those comments and we do have needs: we need two things at the top of any ministry list: prayer and financial support. The other things we need are listed at the “projects page” and you can also email us here with ideas you might have that would fit your area of interest and expertise. Return to Question list
Q5- I do not have a lot of money but I do have some free time, can you tell me how I can effectively help?
Free time is a great thing to have and yes we have many needs; do you have internet access that you have daily? Do you have computer skills? Do you have access to skype? If you say yes to those areas we can use your help in coordinating the many volunteers that we currently and will have.
If you have free time but are not able to answer yes to those questions I would encourage you to set aside time to pray for us and get involved with the prayer ministry which we are hoping to start.
If you have free time and can do some writing we need a person to help with a newsletter.   Return to Question list

Q6- I have free time and I use bible.org but am not all that computer literate. What other areas can I help in?
One area would be an active prayer ministry. If we sent you the prayer list, would you be faithful to pray and encourage those on that list?    Return to Question list

Q7- I enjoy reading the many articles on the site. I am an avid book reader but have few finances to purchase good Christian books? Do you now have or will have in the near future any ideas to develop a lending library?
Great question! We have been discussing that very idea. Would you happen by any chance to live locally in the Dallas area perhaps? We have a library of materials that have been given to us by the authors as gifts but we do not have copyrights to them and/or if we do have copyrights we do not have the monetary means nor the volunteers to go about processing them for the download to the site. We are in need of help to read and critique and then to catalog those books. We also need money to format the books that are given with copyrights and/or to build a lending library across the metro area and beyond if possible. This is an area we are in the think stage and are waiting on God to raise up a person to assist us in this endeavor.     Return to Question list

Q8- I love bible.org and I live locally in the Dallas area. What help can I offer to your staff on a weekly/monthly basis if only I have a few hours?
In the office we need many projects that take time and are projects that need training such as CD and DVD duplication. They take time to do and we do accomplish them but things would go much faster if we had more hands to help in this area.     Return to Question list

Q9- I do not live locally. What can I do to help?
The first is to pray daily for us. The second is to fill out our volunteer registration form and then it will help us narrow down your skills and perhaps then target you into an area of “helps”.    Return to Question list

Q10- Add your comments below (registered users only) and I will answer you by email or if it is of general interest we will add it to this list of questions/answsers?      Return to Question list

new project idea.. (Jumpstart articles in all the trade language

It has been suggested that we use the Google translation service to translate our articles into the major trade languages and then use that as a baseline for produceing material in that language. This will need a language champion and we would need to set up the site so you could change your language preference for navigation..
