It’s Easter! It’s a time for Christians to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. For many non-Christians, it’s a time to commercialize Christ in order to earn money. And in recent years, it’s become a time to commercialize some far-fetched “new view” of Jesus that “naïve” Christians have been overlooking or suppressing for centuries.

A Christian response to these outlandish claims must be one of grace combined with truth. We must extend kindness and gentleness while holding to the truths of Scripture. We mustn’t grow angry or unpleasant, for that contradicts the grace that Jesus taught and embodied. We mustn’t bury our heads in the ground and hope that these attacks will simply go away, for that contradicts the truth that Jesus taught and embodied. Instead, we can engage our culture best by demonstrating the character of Christ while trying to show that our faith is not unreasonable.
