Abstract

According to Jesus, our hearts follow our treasures. That is, we will become like that which we value most. What is most important to you? What do you truly treasure above all else? Where is your heart? Many of us would answer those questions differently today than we may have ten years ago, because as we grow older we tend to shift our priorities. The Bible encourages us to look at life’s ledger with God’s perspective. When we do, the world’s assets may become spiritual liabilities and the world’s liabilities may become spiritual assets. And thus we begin to treasure that which God treasures and recognize the world’s counterfeit assets for what they really are.
